MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF EXPERTISE IN CREATIVE FIELD. MAIN FOCUS ON GRAFFITI LETTERS.
I paint classic graffiti. Which, at least for me, means clear and readable letters following the mid 1980’s NYC style with a strong scandinavian twist. Call it what you will, but letters are my love, have been for over 33 years.
In addition of being featured in various media, I’ve also published coloring books, co-authored the book of our crew, did various websites (not all graffiti related) and was the editor in chief of an underground graffiti fanzine in 1991-1996.
In 2022 I published a graffiti coloring book which directly relates to a series of paintings I've done between 2020-2022 as well as an exhibition I held in the fall of 2022 with the same title.
Original book was released in 2016, an updated and translated version in 2021. The 2nd edition has almost twice the pages the first has - meaning it has more photos and more interviews. You can order the book directly from the publisher. Check out also the bundle with 'Who Made Who' coloring book.
HOW AND WHERE TO BUY THE BOOKS
OVER THE YEARS I'VE BEEN INVOLVED IN MANY REWARDING PROJECTS. BROWSE MOST RECENT OF THEM BELOW.
During the summer 2023 I was one of the 20 graffiti artists who participated in an exhibition at Pasila Urban Art Center. Helsingin Sanomat, the largest newspaper in Finland, wrote a lengthy article about the exhibition. I had the chance of commenting the current state of finnish graffiti.
MTN is a large paint manufacturer from Spain. I am honoured that they wanted to feature me on their “Fire at Will” section at MTN World blog in 2019. The article has a very short interview-like section with a loads of photos.
I was interviewed twice for Meeting of Styles website. First time took place in 2017 and the 2nd time in 2021. Even though there’s some repetition in the interviews, there’s some differencies as well.
YLE, The Finnish Broadcasting Company, has covered a lot of incidents where graffiti and all sorts of art has been done on buildings or areas that have been set for demolition. I’ve been featured on few of those articles.
Finnish Urban Media made a lengthy interview about me in the fall of 2017. I think that of all the articles about myself this interview is the one that really stood the test of time. Every single word of it still holds true.
Helsingin Sanomat newspaper wrote an article about the 1st edition of HRC book, right after it’s release in the fall of 2016. Instead of doing a regular book review, they chose to do a rather silly feature where mr. Move and myself got to answer various stereotypical arguments about graffiti.
In 2016 we self-financed a book about our crew and Voima made an review about it. Five years later we released an updated and translated version of the book, this time Voima published it. Check out the articles about both versions of the book and the reasons behind the releases.
This is the first article Voima-magazine wrote about me, although the article focuses more in the difficulties of transforming into art scene outside the establisment. When this article was published, I was a fresh member of the artist association MUU.
Art Crimes is one of the few websites from the beginning of the web that’s still active, and it’s part of the history of the web, as well as being a part of graffiti history. I am honoured to have a small feature on it.
